If you’ve never tried coasteering before, you probably imagine it as people throwing themselves off cliffs into the sea.

And yes… there’s definitely some jumping involved!

But coasteering is really about exploring hidden parts of the Cornish coastline that most people never get to see. Sea caves, crystal clear gullies, natural channels and tucked-away swimming spots beneath the cliffs of North Cornwall.

So far his summer we’ve had some incredible conditions around Port Quin and Port Gaverne, with calm seas and amazingly clear water making for perfect sessions.

Every group is different too. Some people arrive wanting the biggest jumps possible, while others just want to explore the coastline, swim through caves and build confidence in the sea.

That’s the beauty of coasteering. There’s no pressure.

You really don’t.

We regularly take out families, beginners, school groups and mixed ability groups. The wetsuits and buoyancy aids give people loads of confidence in the water, and the routes can always be adapted depending on the group.

Watching someone nervous at the start of the session finish with a huge smile after their first jump is still one of the best parts of the job.

One of the best things about coasteering is seeing Cornwall from sea level.

Once you’re in the water, the coastline looks completely different. You notice the rock formations, the colours in the water and all the hidden features you’d never spot from the cliff path above.

On calm days the water can become unbelievably clear.

At Cornish Adventure, coasteering was the first activity we ever offered and it’s still the activity that defines us most.

Over the years we’ve expanded into kayaking and surfing too, but coasteering remains the ultimate Cornish Adventure.

Swimming, climbing, scrambling, exploring and cliff jumping all rolled into one unforgettable session.

And yes… if you want to do some jumps, we’ve definitely got those too.
